X2 BEYOND THE SEA
Agent Donald walks down the edge of the beach, just before midnight,
as the note in his fortune cookie had instructed.
(also, his lucky #'s were 1,6,7,5,1,2).
As the ocean mist rolls off the coastline towards him,
Donald makes out the shape of a boat just off shore with a strange
glowing orange light moving up and down slowly, inside it.
Thinks... 'This must be the place'. He sees the abandoned boathouse.
He enters it and finds a strange locked box on the floor.
As he stands in front of the box, the red dot of a laser scope appears on
Donald's chest, but Donald doesn't see it. He's looking at the box.
As he bends over to open it, he hears 3 muffled rifle shots wiz over
his head. Quickly Donald uses the code: 1,6,7,5,1,2 to open the box.
It contains a file, only marked with an X.
He instantly smashes the back window and dives through it,
just ahead of more silenced rifle shots.
He runs into the forest that is just behind the boathouse, and escapes.
Finally Agent Donald gets to safety and opens the file.

As Agent Donald and Agent Chelsea leave the stairwell from the FBI building and enter the parking garage, they hear the faint sound of
screeching tires in the distance.
A shadowy figure watches them from one side of the garage.
They are also being watched from the other side, by a figure in the darkness, whose only noticeable feature is the orange glow of a cigarette
moving occasionally.
As they approach their car, Donald notices that his door is unlocked.
AGENT DONALD: "That's funny, I'm sure I locked it."
AGENT CHELSEA: "Must be an X-File."
They both get into the car and see a folder sitting on the dashboard.
CHELSEA: "What's that?"
DONALD: "10 to 1 you can't dance to it."
The only marking on the file is an X.
Agent Donald opens the file.

I like how you hear tires screeching in the
background
(though unrelated) the moment Mulder and Scully
hear about a car exploding, as they are listening to the
tape that was secretly put into their car by Phoebe.
I like how Phoebe has the title of an X-file episode in
her name: E.B.E. (Dumb, I know).
I like Mark Sheppard who played 'Cecil'.
He's in a lot of my favorite shows:
Firefly, Battlestar Gallactica, X-Files.
DISLIKES: No major dislikes
A HELPFUL MOMENT:
In the arson lab we see that this X-File isn't about arson,
but HOW the fires are ignited :
SCULLY: "You mentioned that the arsonist might be using some kind of
rocket fuel as an accelerant."
BEATTY: "Yeah, well, that's just speculation. It still doesn't
explain how he sets bodies on fire."

Agent Donald enters the WHITING INSTITUTE FOR THE CRIMINALLY INSANE to do some research. He stops in the cafeteria to sit and eat.
One inmate has paid a cafeteria worker to poison Donald's Coke.
Just as he is about to take a sip, a person comes out of the shadows
and knocks the drink out of Donald hand, causing Donald to look down at the spill. When he looks back up, the shadowy figure is gone,
disappearing in the commotion.
When Donald sits back down at the table, there is a folder next to his Cajun shrimp.
The folder is only marked with an X... and a coke stain.
He opens the folder and reads the file:

Agent Donald, dressed in all black, enters the quarantined area
in the cover of the night.
He sees a UFO retrieval team sanitizing the area of a large crash.
As Donald starts taking
pictures of the wreckage, he hears a noise from behind him.
He turns to see what it is...THUD!
Donald is knocked out cold by a soldier who is patrolling the area.
Donald wakes up in a make-shift jail of chain link fence.
He hears a voice coming from the 'cell' next to him.
The voice says:
"You from R.O.T.X.F.?
...Or D.I.L.?"
The man spins his hat around on his head so Donald can read it.
The hat has 6 letters across the front.
Voice:
"Me... I'm from C.E.M.E.N.T. -
'Chris - E - Mails - Everything - Not - True'. "
The voice says: "I'm known as 'Chris the hate mailer' or CHM."
CHM: "They call us 'Cement heads',
but that makes us sound kind of dense, so I like to call us 'Cement heads'."
Suddenly, a bright light shines down on CHM, temporarily blinding
Agent Donald.
After a moment, the light dissipates and Donald regains his sight.
He looks into CHM's cell but CHM has disappeared.
Confused, Donald turns to sit back down. He notices a shadowy
figure leaving the area outside his cell.
Then, he notices something on the bench that's in his cell.
It's a folder...
marked only with an X.
Donald picks it up and opens it.
It reads:

LIKES:
This is my 1st 'mythology' review.
I like this whole episode. It is a 'mythology' episode which are my favorites.
Also, who doesn't like Max Fenig.
DISLIKES:
No major dislikes but I do get a kick out of Mulder seeming to be so surprised that the military would be using 'live rounds'.
Also, I don't know why the military would make up a cover story about a Libyan jet being half the way across the globe. It would have to have a huge fuel tank, or maybe it made an in flight refueling... but with who?
Why would it have a nuclear warhead on board flying over the USA?
Is Libya going to bomb us with 1 bomb?
