Episode 1 - Pilot [Field Report]

           =============== CLASSIFIED ===============
"THE FOLLOWING STORY IS INSPIRED BY ACTUAL DOCUMENTED ACCOUNTS"

SCOTT BLEVINS: We see you've been with us just over two years.

SCULLY: Yes, sir.

SCOTT BLEVINS: You went to medical school but you chose not to practice. How'd you come to work for the F.B.I.?

SCULLY: Well, sir, I was recruited out of medical school. Um, my parents still think it was an act of rebellion, but, uh... I saw the F.B.I. as a place where I could distinguish myself.

THIRD MAN: Are you familiar with an agent named Fox Mulder?

SCULLY: Yes, I am.

THIRD MAN: How so?

SCULLY: By reputation. He's an Oxford educated Psychologist, who wrote a monograph on serial killers and the occult, that helped to catch Monty Props in 1988. Generally thought of as the best analyst in the violent crimes section. He had a nickname at the academy... Spooky Mulder.

SCOTT BLEVINS: What I'll also tell you is that Agent Mulder has developed a consuming devotion to an unassigned project outside the bureau mainstream. Are you familiar with the so-called "X-Files?"

SCULLY: I believe they have to do with unexplained phenomena.

SCOTT BLEVINS: More or less. The reason you're here, Agent Scully, is we want you to assist Mulder on these X-Files. You will write field reports on your activities, along with your observations on the validity of the work.

              ********************************

Agent Donald and Agent Chelsea are on a plane heading to Oregon when the plane hits severe turbulence. Donald doesn't even wake up but Chelsea is shaken. She looks towards the cockpit and yells: 'Pilot'

X-FILE # UNKNOWN

MY FILE # X33-1.01

1st category is
SNOW TRAX:
Mark Snows music that was in this episode,
but was not on the sound track.

Todays Snow TraX are called:
1121
Implant
The Other 2 Graves
What Are They?
The Woods
It's happening Again
The Orange X
Scully's Entrance
The Meeting (History is Made)

A few of these tracks have a strong 'John Carpenter' sound,
like in the movies THE FOG and HALLOWEEN. Very eerie but
fitting well with the episode.
Mark Snows music seems to take a slight change in course
after the music for PILOT, to more of the 'Snowy' that we know.

*One note: Some clips may sound similar.
This is because some songs were played more than once in the episode, but I still recorded both parts.

To get these Snow TraX without me talking over them,

ZERO SUM:
Pluses and minuses that don't add up to anything.

Like most people, I really like this episode because
it has a lot of firsts.
The episode would be great by itself but being the 1st X-File,
it's place in history is cemented.

On Ray Soames: The body in Ray Soames' grave looked like an alien, not a human or ape. It also was in advanced stages of decomposition so it had to have been there for a while - or at least dead for a while and then put there.
Either way there was a cover-up... which makes the X-Files so great.

Speaking of 'cover-ups':
Here's the first mention of a government cover-up in the X-Files:

SCULLY:
"You didn't mention yesterday, this case has already been investigated."

MULDER:
"Yeah, the FBI got involved after the first three deaths when local authorities failed to turn up any evidence. Our boys came out here, spent a week, enjoyed the local salmon which, with a little lemon twist, is just to die for, if you'll pardon the expression. Without explanation, they were called back in. The case was reclassified and buried in the X-Files, till I dug it up last week."

My favorite part is at the end when C.S.M. is putting the implant into a storage container in the huge Pentagon vault, with Mark Snows music creating a "this is very important" feeling to the scene.

MULDERIZMS:
Mulder: It's probably a safe bet Ray Soames never made the Varsity
        Basketball team.

X-IMPACT: BY AGENT JAMES
[Impact that the episode had on the audience]

The Fox network first of all denied Chris Carter's request to broadcast the X-Files. But Carter forked out his own money to make the pilot episode and Fox immediately changed their minds plus critics also liked it as it was a little higher budgeted but the pilot is to draw people in.

MYTHOMETER:

MYTHARC***
STRONG HYBRID
WEAK HYBRID

THE SEQUELIZER:
The potential the episode had for a sequel

Pilot had a HIGH potential for a sequel because of the
unidentified object found in Ray Soames' nasal cavity,
and the mysterious activity in the woods.
Plus, it's a Mythology so subsequent Mytharcs are kind of
sequels.

Finally,
MY 1-10 RATING:

Compared to other Mythologies I give Pilot an 8,
very good but they get better.
Compared to ALL X-Files episodes I give it a 9.
Compared to other shows on TV it's probably a 10.

DEEP THROAT: Leave this case alone Agent Mulder.

MULDER: What?

DEEP THROAT: The military will not tolerate an FBI investigation.

MULDER: Who are you?

DEEP THROAT: I, er, can be of help to you. I've had a certain interest in your work.

VOICE: Sorry.

MULDER: How do you know about my work?

DEEP THROAT: Well, let's just say that I'm in a position to know quite alot of things, er, things about our government.

MULDER: Who are you? Who do you work for?

DEEP THROAT: It's unimportant, I came here to give you some valuable advice. You are exposing yourself and Agent Scully to unnecessary risk, I advise you to drop the case.

MULDER: I can't do that.

DEEP THROAT: You have much work to do Agent Mulder,
don't jeopardize the future of your own efforts.

MULDER: What is your interest?

DEEP THROAT: The truth.

MULDER: I did see something, but it's gone, they took it from me, they erased it. You have to tell me what it was.

DEEP THROAT: A military UFO? Mr. Mulder, why are those like yourself, who believe in the existence of extra terrestrial life on this earth, not dissuaded by all the evidence to the contrary?

MULDER: Because, all the evidence to the contrary, is not entirely dissuasive.

DEEP THROAT: Precisely.

MULDER: They're here, aren't they?

DEEP THROAT: Mr. Mulder, they've been here for a long long time.

Scully:
"After a careful review of the violent and powerful nature of these murders, I believe the killer to be a male, 25 to 35 years of age, with above average intelligence.

His matter of entry has so far been undetectable, this may be due to his superior knowledge of the inner-structure of buildings and duct works. Or that he in fact hides in plain sight, posing as delivery or maintenance workers.

The extraction of the liver is the most significant detail of these crimes. The liver possesses regenerative qualities, it cleanses the blood.

The taking of this trophy is the transferring act for the killer to, cleanse himself of his own impurities. I think he is acting under, the classic form of obsessive compulsive behaviour."

Here's where I'll read your emails.
It's really just an excuse to let your hear a little more music in the background while I'm reading them.

    Today I have 2.

The 1st one is from Agent Sam. It reads:

    Hi, Agent Shadow,

I was intrigued by your recent "Shadow Cast" in which you mentioned that many of Mark Snow's elusive songs are available via your iTunes podcast. However, when I went there to subscribe, I didn't see any file that looked like it might be the songs. Is there a file name I should be looking for? Thanks, I enjoy the podcast along with Agent Donald's.

    Agent Sam

"Thanks Agent Sam. This email made me pick up the pace on getting the Snow TraX project moving."

The second email is from Agent Stone. It reads:
    Agent Shadow,

    Greetings!
Ive been listening to the Reopening the X-Files podcast since just after Agent Donald started doing them and have thoroughly enjoyed listening to the episode recaps and discussions of the episodes and all things X Files.

Anyways a bit of background...I was an original X-Phile as I was a member of the fan club back in the nineties and am basically an X-File nerd so to speak - i have all the usual collectibles and such and am just a really big fan.
I found the podcast ironically enough just as i started an entire series re-watch so the timing was perfect.
I really enjoy your field reports and I think that your insight and enthusiasm adds so much to the podcast - I can tell how much of a real fan you are.
Im writing to you to discuss Mark Snow. Of all the music work Snow has done, I feel that the X files stuff is the best and truly magical. I really still can't get enough of The Truth and the Light after 12 years. I love what you've been doing with the music from the episodes that aren't available elsewhere - Season 1's score and 2 and 3 and so on is so amazing.

Anyways keep up the good field reports  - I look forward to hearing new podcasts when they are up - Ive got all of your and all the Reopenings on my ipod and even enjoy going back and listening to past episodes.
    Thanks for your time

    Tim
    aka
    Agent Stone

    That's all the emails.

    Syrup: Vigilo
    Watcher: Specto

The song you're hearing now is from Vidna Obmana, and it's called
    Dwells Into the Heart.
I didn't want to duplicate the featured music,
so I thought I would use some of My favorite artists in the same
    genre as background music.

Syrup is when they show the drivers' syrup bottle on the counter.
Watcher is when Cecil is watching the mother from outside the
    kitchen window.

    Here's the music of Fire...

  • Snow TraX with Agent Shadow: ST1 - GENDER BENDER (Mark Snows Music)

This is 'Snow TraX' with Agent Shadow.
Hello Agents and welcome to the 1st ever episode of Snow TraX.

This show is a tribute to Mark Snow's music.
During these shows I'll cover all, or almost all,
of Mark Snows music that was in the episodes but not on the soundtrack.

The clips are taken directly from the X-Files episodes,
so there may be a small amount of ambient sound in the background.

Mark Snow is the reason I got into The X-Files.
It was his music in the background of an episode while I was
channel surfing that made me stop and watch.

The music you're hearing in the background IS music from the
soundtrack, but the music I will play for you soon is the non-soundtrack music - I just needed some music behind me to make it sound better.

I don't know what the real names of the songs are so I had to
give them names - with Latin translations of course, like Mark Snow
did with most of his X-Files songs.

When I began doing this, it was for the Reopening the X-Files
podcast, so I would have some background music for my 'Field Reports'.
But soon I had a large collection of music that I wanted to share with
    you Agents.

The reason why I'm starting with GENDER BENDER is because that's the
episode when I joined Agent Donald at Reopening the X-Files, so I'll
do these episodes in the same order that I file My Field Reports.
I am working my way backwards to the 1st episode - PILOT, but I haven't
gotten that far back yet and I wanted to start getting these songs out
    to you Agents.

And lastly, I won't be talking as much in the future episodes of
Snow TraX, I just wanted to give you some background.

So, here's what the show will probably sound like in the future:

    Today's show is ST1 - GENDER BENDER.

    Today's songs are called:

    Eye Tunes: Oculus Tunes
    Surrounded: Constipatis
    The White Caves: Albus Specis
    Church bell: Templum Campana

    Ok,
'Eye Tunes' is that techno song in the club where you see a big
painting of an eye on the wall and it may not even be a Mark Snow
song, so let's get it out of the way 1st. It's not the 'signature'
Mark Snow music that we will hear the rest of the way, so ironically
we will start with that song.

'Surrounded' is the music when Mulder and Scully are surrounded by
The Kindred in the woods as they approach the village.

'The White Caves' is when Mulder sneaks into the caves and finds
    "Brother what's his name."

'Churchbell' is just that 3-4 second sound that Mark Snow uses all
throughout the episode. Go rewatch it, it's there more than you think.

    So finally, here's your music.

    *********** **********

That's all I have for GENDER BENDER.
Future shows will have a lot more.
If you have any comments, please contact me at:
    AGENTSHADOWX@MYSPACE.COM

Next show will be BEYOND THE SEA.

Thanks for joining me for the first of hopefully 9 seasons of great

FIELD REPORTS - X26 to X30 (Firewalker, Ghost, Shadows, Jersey Devil, Conduit)

[OPENING QUOTE]

VOSBERG: There it is again. Did you see that? You saw that shadow,
didn't you?

TECHNICIAN: Yeah, but what could be moving around in that kind of
heat?

VOSBERG: I don't know, maybe it was, uh, just a ghost signal.
It wouldn't be the first time.

(Pierce continues to pan across the area, but there is no sign of

what caused the shadow. The video feed is then lost, leaving only

static on the monitor.)

VOSBERG: What's going on up there?

                       ***************************************

While Agent Donald waits for Agent Anna to pick him up at the diner,
A.D. Solo, sits in his rowboat on the lake behind the diner.
Suddenly the rope that the boat was moored to snaps, and the boat
slowly drifts away.
The boat comes to rest on a small island in the
middle of the lake. A.D. Solo gets out and looks for help.

Finding none, Solo realizes he is stranded so he pulls
out his cell phone to call the fire department for help.
A recorded voice tells him that the number is 'out of service'.
He realizes that he has mis-dialed when he looks at the screen
of his phone and sees the word "Firewalker".

Snow Trax is the name of a separate podcast that I have.
It's all the music you hear in my Field Reports, except it's
just the music without me talking over it like your hear in my
Field Reports.

To listen to Snow TraX, just launch iTunes and search for Agent
Shadow. Then click 'subscribe'.
You'll get all the non-soundtrack music that Mark Snow wrote,
from all the episodes, as we cover them.

You'll also get remastered Field Reports from the past.
Some of my earlier Field Reports where noisy, had missing parts or
not all of Mark Snows music.

You'll also get "specials" that I make plus any future projects.

Today's clips are called:

Airlift
New Life Form
The Steam Caves
Hot Shot

Some clips in Firewalker we've heard already.
Mark Snow used music from Lazarus, Ice and I believe
Darkness Falls.

'Firewalker' James Wong was not happy about it's similarities with

X27 GHOST IN THE MACHINE

MULDER: Thanks for coming.

DEEP THROAT: I’m here against my better judgment. In the future I

must insist that you respect the terms of our arrangement.

MULDER: I need to know why Brad Wilczek is the subject of a code

five investigation. What the Defense Department wants with him.

DEEP THROAT: What do you think they’d want with the most innovative

programmer in this hemisphere?

MULDER: Software.

DEEP THROAT: For years, Wilczek has thumbed his nose at any contract

involving weapons applications. He’s a bleeding heart.

MULDER: What kind of software?

DEEP THROAT: How much do you know about artificial intelligence?

MULDER: I thought it was only theoretical.

DEEP THROAT: It was, until two years ago. You remember Helsinki, the

first time that a chess playing computer ever beat a Grand Master?

(MULDER nods.) That was Wilczek’s program. And the rumor was that he

did it by developing the first adaptive network.

MULDER: An adaptive network?

DEEP THROAT: It’s a learning machine. A computer that actually

thinks. And it’s, ah, become something of a holy grail for some of

our more acquisitive colleagues in the Department of Defense.

destroyed the only evidence that could have exonerated him.

MULDER: What else could I have done?

DEEP THROAT: Nothing... Unless you were willing to let the

X7 ICE  ***** (REMASTERED AND COPIED FROM EARLIER POST) *****

Agent Donald and Agent Chelsea are in their basement office talking about the movie 'The Thing', when Donald get a phone call from a man telling them to meet him in the FBI parking garage.
Donald and Chelsea go down to the garage but all the overhead lights are out. They can hardly see a thing. At that moment they hear a voice from the darkness behind them saying "Don't turn around".
Something is slipped into Donald's trench coat.
The voice says: "This is urgent".

After a moment, the lights come back on and the man is gone.
Donald looks in his coat and finds a strange envelope marked only with an X.
Donald opens it. It's a highly classified document telling of a cover-up operation that will soon be launched to destroy all evidence of the Arctic Ice Core Project.
The report mentions that there are also samples of alien life there
that will also be destroyed.

The Agents act quickly.
They mobilize the RXF Quick Response Team to get to the
Arctic Ice Core Project immediately.

They come from all corners of the globe.
 ‏
Australian Agents Adelle and Jasper are taken off their case of "Black-eyed people", to help out.

Ireland's 2 Agents, Lauren and Sarah join in - leaving their "Potato Famine conspiracy" case.

Amanda and Tara from Texas‏ are taken off the "Shamrock case".

Vancouver Agent John Bailey is joined by Agent Danielle from the Netherlands Field Office.

And of course Agent Super Spandex who is on a stake-out on a roof-top in Tel Aviv is called in.
The large RXF team enters the deserted Arctic Ice Core Project.
They search the building for any evidence that could prove the existence of extraterrestrial life, before the 'cleaning' team arrives.
Then, Agent Super Spandex calls out:

"Over here!"

The Agents run over to see what Spandex has found.
He's looking at a block of ice in the freezer with something encased in it.

Spandex: "Looks like a folder... with a plus sign on it!"
Donald: "Spandex, that's an 'X'.
Chelsea: "Well, are we going to have a spelling bee or are we going to open it?"

The Agents chip away at the block until they get to the folder.
They open it up. It reads:

ZERO SUM

This episode is one of the best overall episodes of the whole series,
and maybe the very best 'monster of the week' of the 9 seasons.
The sense of isolation is portrayed very well.
The mystery of who is infected, and how, is riveting.
Again, Mark Snow nails the mood with very eerie sounds and music.
The actors do a great job of portraying the fear and paranoia that would be present.
The choice of actors is right on the money, with the differences
in their personalities adding to the plot line.
Also, Bear is one of my favorite guest stars in the whole series.

One observation: Why is there no snow in northern Alaska, even after a major blizzard that hit just north of them in Ice Bay?
(I know, they're really in Vancouver)

This episode is a kind of tribute to the movie 'The Thing'
by John Carpenter, which is also a remake of
'The Thing From Another World' by Christian Nyby.
This was influenced by 'Who Goes There?', by John W.Campbell.
One of the team members in the episode is named Campbell,
an homage to the author.

The shots of the Arctic Ice Core Project building are taken directly from the movie 'The Thing'.
This takes nothing away from the episode.
It truly is a 'classic'.
If you want to 'relive' ICE, watch 'The Thing', with Kurt Russell.

You'll love it!

One little thing happened that I was curious about.
The "We're not who we are" speech always seemed different
the second time we hear it - when Mulder and Scully are reviewing the video tape. So I recorded it both times it's played and I overlapped them to see if they match. They don't.

I'll play them in a moment.
They do sound similar at first but they change significantly as the clip plays out.
It's not a big deal but I don't know why the producers would use 2 different clips for, what's supposed to be,
a recording of the same speech. Wouldn't it have been much easier
and more accurate to just use the same sound byte?

Here's the 2 clips overlapped:

[We're 'really' not who we are]

MULDERIZMS:
When the team has to check each other for spots.
(Mulder, Murphy and Hodge all start to undress in a room.)

MULDER: "Before anyone passes judgment,
may I remind you, we are in the Arctic."

SNOW TRAX:
(ICE is the 1st Field Report where I had SNOW MACHINE:
now Snow TraX)

I mention Mark Snows music in every Field Report
so I thought I would make a category for him.
I will play clips of his tracks that didn't make it to the sound track
in the back ground.
To hear all the Snow TraX without me talking over them, plus other specials, just subscribe to 'Agent Shadows Field Reports' at iTunes.

Todays Snow TraX are:
ARCTIC ICE CORE PROJECT
ASLEEP AT THE MICROSCOPE
BLACK NODULES
LEAVE IT THERE
ON ICE

MYTHOMETER:
3 = FULL MYTHOLOGY
2 = STRONG HYBRID
1 = WEEK HYBRID*****
0 = MONSTER OF THE WEEK

I give ICE a 1 out of 3 on the MYTHOMETER.
REASON:
1/2 a point for the alien worm, because it's alien,
but not part of the 'Alien conspiracy'
1/2 a point for the Government cover-up, for destroying the AICP base (brief mention)

MY 1-10 RATING:

I give ICE a 10.
This is a great episode

The Sequelizer
[The potential the episode had for a sequel]

ICE had a HIGH potential for a sequel.
You had the potential for the Government to NOT destroy the AICP,
and continue the project secretly.
Maybe they could find more life forms up there - who knows.

show us the actual X-Files on the cases.

I think they should use me for Massachusetts references
for the next movie :)

FIELD REPORTS - X21 to X25 (Sleepless, Duane Barry, Ascension, '3', One Breath)

X21 SLEEPLESS

X:
"Separating you and Scully was only the beginning.
The truth is still out there, but it’s never been more dangerous."

                          ********************************

Agent Donald walks to the car pool to requisition his vehicle
for the drive to the airport.  He gives the paperwork to Agent Ron
Chung who gives him the keys.
As he walks to the car, he stops to talk to Agents
Jackie from Oregon, Frank from Nevada and
Gareth from the Yorkshire field office who have all joined the hunt
for Chelsea.

As Donald get's in the car, a dark man
walks up to the vehicle and gets in the passengers seat.
He's holding a Bible, but Donald thinks it's a gun.
He's wearing an old army shirt with cut-off sleeves, and a patch
that reads:
'Stallion Odds'
The man says: "Just drive."
Donald follows the mans instructions, and soon Donald is lost
somewhere in the hills of West Virginia.

Back at the airport, Donald's new partner gets tired of waiting for
him and, after calling him several times with no answer,
she decides to take a taxi back to the FBI building.

Before she get's there, the phone in Donald's office rings.
His machine picks up.
It's Agent Chelsea:

"Donald, These men in black have taken me to a
high containment facility in New Mexico.
They've performed tests and sampled my DNA.
The oldest one, whose always smoking, keeps letting me contact you.
I think it's his way of taunting you.
He says their plan to shut down Reopening the X-Files is going
better than expected.

He's taking Me by train to another facility to continue their master
plan, which goes way above just shutting us down."

The message again ends abruptly.
Just as Frohike opens his mouth to say something, Donald's new
partner walks into the office and says:

"Hi I'm looking for Agent Donald. My name is Agent Anna from
Indiana."

Langley looks at Frohike and says:
"Don't say it Frohike."

Anna puts her bags down and put's a file on Donald's desk
It Reads:

3 = FULL MYTHOS
2.9 = (ALMOST) FULL MYTHOLOGY*****
2 = STRONG HYBRID

0 = MONSTER OF THE WEEK

Sleepless is as close to a mythology episode as you can get.
It has everything but aliens.
The Syndicate, conspiracy, X, Krycek and more.

The only reason that it's not officially listed as a mythology is
because there are no references to the main story arc - the alien
take over.

THE SEQUELIZER:
[The potential the episode had for a sequel]

SLEEPLESS had a HIGH potential for a sequel because of the
mind control theme.
The government could have used this method on other soldiers
or other people for different purposes.

Ok Donald, I'm uploading My current Field report to you from the
island.

The Lighthouse Keeper is revealing more about his past to me.
He seems bitter towards his old Syndicate comrades for leaving him
here on this island to monitor the experiments on the inhabitants.

He says they've been using pesticides on the food they grow here to
make the inhabitants more receptive to the power of suggestion.
I think I'll stick to the fish.
They're using ultra sonic sound as a trigger.

They're experimenting with mind control for some master plan that
he's starting to tell me about slowly.

It's now midnight and I've snuck out of the house to
investigate the other side of the island where that man
was shot and where they are spraying the pesticide.

O.k., I can see men in protective suits spraying a chemical on the
plants.
I also see a light in the sky coming towards me.
I hear it now! It's shining a light down on me!

Agent Donald and the dark man that carjacked him drive to
the middle of a West Virginia mountains.
The man tells Donald to get out of the vehicle.
Donald complies.
The man takes the car and drives away,
leaving Donald in the middle of nowhere.

A thousand miles away, In the Nevada desert, Agent Chelsea is being
transported by train to another secret location that the Man in Black
wants her to see.

Chelsea writes an entry in her Field Journal:

"Day 3.
My captors have taken me to a secret facility in Nevada
to perform tests on me, and now are taking me in a train heading
west for another 'appointment'.

"They are letting me record all this in my Field Journal and
occasionally call Agent Donald to send him messages. I've heard them talking about a ship.
I think we're heading to a shipyard on the west coast.

"End of Field Journal - Day 3"

Back at the FBI building, Agent Anna settles into Agent Donald's

Agent Donald is dropped off at a diner in Rixeyville by the truck
driver. As he leaves the vehicle, Donald notices a name tag on the
mans coat.
It says: Ranger Jed.

As Donald walks toward the diner, 3 people are secretly watching
him approach.
It's Agent Super Spandex, Agent Cough, and Agent Ron jr.

As Donald enters the diner to look for a payphone,
The 3 Agents duck away and hide in a booth behind Agent Summer
leisure and Agent Mothman who are investigating strange phenomena back in West Virginia and stopped here for a bite.

Donald notices 3 payphones near the door and walks over to them,
but when he reaches into his pocket he realizes that he has no change.
He sees a young lady with a T-shirt that says: 'Space Music with TC'.
Donald asks her name - it's Daniella. He asks if she has a quarter.
She answers in a Dutch accent "Of course, here's 3."
Donald thanks her and quickly calls Agent Anna at the FBI.
Anna is sitting at Donald's desk talking to the 3 Lone Gunmen as
she answers the phone. Donald tells her where he is and says
"Get me out of here soon. What time can you be here?"
Anna answers:
"3."

Addendum to Field Report:

I'm in My motel room in Virginia.

I was right, there was a car following me, with Vancouver plates,
but when I checked into the motel room and looked out my bedroom
window, I saw the driver being pulled out of his car and dragged into a
white van.
The men that took him where dressed in black and they also took
the mans briefcase from out of his car.
I ran out to help him but the van was long gone.

I then searched the man's car and found 3 things:
A folder, a key and an FBI badge.

The folder was hidden.
I guess the men in black didn't have enough time to look for
everything.
Inside the folder is a note from My Contact, The Lighthouse Keeper,
referencing classified documents in the now stolen briefcase concerning
a global mind control conspiracy. The driver of the Vancouver car
must have been his messenger waiting for the right time to give me
the folder and briefcase. The briefcase is gone and I don't know how
to contact The Lighthouse Keeper to tell him about his kidnapped
messenger.

The second item, the key, is to locker #935 at the Washington DC
airport.
The note says that there's information on the lockers contents in
the now stolen briefcase.

...and lastly I found Agent Chelsea's FBI badge.

These must be the same people who kidnapped Chelsea.
They left her badge like some kind of sick calling card.

The note ends with the words "Get to the locker."

I better keep moving. I guess I don't sleep any more.

More from the road later.

End of Field Journal.

                     ***************************************

In Nevada, the Men in Black bring Agent Chelsea to a covert meeting
in an industrial complex with one of their leaders.

Meanwhile, back at the diner in Virginia,
Agent Donald hangs the phone up and sits in a booth near the end
of the diner, waiting for Agent Anna to pick him up.
He notices people giving him side glances and mumbling things that
sound like 'microphone boy' and 'spooky podcaster'.

He tries to ignore it and orders a Coke.

Agent Summer and Agent Moth man quietly slip out the back door to
return to their assignment concerning the West Virginia phenomena,
while Agent B.C.K. enters the diner to relieve them and continue
to surveil Agent Donald.

A.D. Solo monitors this whole operation from inside a small row boat
on the lake behind the diner, with his binoculars. On the stern of
the boat is the boats name, only faintly readable now from years of
weathering. The name has 2 words - 'One Breath'

so I timed all the scenes were Scully is sitting in the boat and
she is in the boat for 1:30.

She's also on the table in that empty room for a few scenes,
but both scenes combined are only 2-3 minutes.

So there are some slow spots, but not too much, and we do learn
a lot from the scenes.

It's more than made up for by the appearances of Skinner, X,
The Lone Gunmen, and C.S.M.

Something cool I just noticed on the re-watch:
Mulder was supposed to intercepted the people responsible for
Scully's abduction at his apartment at 8:17pm, but he goes to
the hospital instead. And when he gets home from the hospital
it's 8:17am the next day.
